Relocating? Why would you want to come here during our economic slump? lol. Forget what the economists say about the recession being over, because unemployment has only increased since it supposedly ended. Last I saw we were over 16% unemployed across the nation and that's only counting the people actively looking for employment. There are millions who have stopped looking, or simply can't afford to look.

You have a wonderful voice and a great face, so you could get into the entertainment industry easier than most here, plus you have the accent which is marketable. I just don't want you thinking things will be easy. . . I've personally been unemployed since September 2008, and not for a lack of trying.

I love your music, and I'd hate to see our system bring you down and crush your ability to keep making it.

I'd give you some tips for what to do or where to go and whatnot, but I've never been to NYC. I live on the other coast, and have spent most of my life in central states. *shrug*

I DO hope everything works out for you.

Good luck, and God be with you in New York. I earnestly hope that you're not moving to New York City-- housing is expensive there, and it's a filthy, potentially soul-draining dystopia. A city that often fills me with mild distaste whenever I have to go there (currently 6 times a week for university). Now, outside NYC, New York state is pretty nice. The weather as of late is rather bad, though, but when I was small, it was much better.

Must be that climate change thing that most Americans think is a conspiracy, or some weird weather patterns, heh. And those deserts looks absolutely delectable.
