TARBOY TEASER!!!

Oh man! If you're a fan, you'll know that I make music for films - and if you've ever spoken to me, you'll know that TARBOY is a film I recently completed, and that it's now roaming the world in film festivals etc. It's up for 5 Awards, including Best Music Award at the QNFA here in Australia, it's in Siggraph, has been in multiple cinema screenings ... I could go on all day...

BUT

The reason to be excited is, that it hasn't been a glimps of it on the web yet... until today.

The teaser is all you're allowed to get, but the film itself is 6 minutes and 20 seconds, so it's worth the wait.

WOAH im a fan of your music and i sure wasn't expecting that. it looks AWESOME the story synopsis and music makes it sound serious and gloomy will it all be serious or will it be comedy or something completely different :D

Actually, when we play it at the cinema's, people laugh a bit - so I am guessing it's funny in places ;)
The best way to describe it is 'fun' and 'epic'.

I went to the New Film Makers Awards thingy yesterday lol and i saw tarboy and i have to say it was AWESOME!!! and im really interested to see that it is going to be a series! Nice job on the music it was great! i loved it :D :D :D :D :D i cant waittt!! weeeee lolll

hello! The animation will be an epic web series - so you'll see it on the net :) ww.tarboy.com is where it will be hosted, as well as Newgrounds - the 1st Episode is finished, we're working on the second at the moment. Should be up by the end of the year ! :)

Oh, the first episode is already finished. The second will be finished by the end of the year. The first should be released by the end of the year and the second will follow soon after. :)

So you did all the music? Do you play the percussion yourself or use sound fonts?

Thanks :)
I make my own beats. I believe that if you're a musician, and you use pre-made beats, you are cheating.
And yep, I composed all the music and performed it too (there's a song smack bang in the middle of episode 1) I use my piano to compose, and then I hand-click the notes in FL Studio , using a million fantastic plugins to get that 'real' sounding quality of orchestra. Then I shove a bunch of effects to make it sound 'robot' ... cause Tarboy is set in a Robot world ;)

All the animation was done in Flash by James Lee. :)

If you head to the page, a list of awards that Tarboy has picked up (just last weekend) are now up, along with a donate button for the second episode. We need to pay the voice actors somehow ;p

1st... That looks awsome, awsome work.

2nd... dunno if you would take this as a compliment. Was listening to some of your stuff at work, and someone asked what group this was, evanescence or nightwish or that. I thought that was cool.... your stuff is definitly that quality.

yeah - that was the first score to one part of the episode - it was rejected by Director James Lee. But it's ok - I made something that sounds even cooler ;)
And yes - it shall make an appearance on Newgrounds after the release of the episode :)
